Yakupov Rumors

Tonight there were one articles stating that the Rangers were trying to get Nail Yakupov, the #1 pick in 2012 and Edmonton was hoping to get Chris Kreider in the package.   Why would either team do that?   Yakupov is struggling right now and Chris Kreider has been the best player on the Rangers since his call up.   Makes no sense.   And if the Rangers do get a forward, you have to wonder if Rick Nash is done.

I think before the Rangers make any trades, they should see what they have in kids like Kristo, Lindberg and McIlrath.   They surely couldn't be worse than some of the veterans and the under 25's have been the best players on the team so far.  Let's go Rangers.

I'd be more inclined to trade MDZ for him instead. Like you said getting a forward really makes you fear the worst about Nash long term.

Not that they are the same injuries, but Sidney Crosby basically missed 14 months with his concussion.

Hope Nash is OK in a month or so.

I still feel that anyone who concusses another player should sit out for as long as the concussed player is unable to play. Mike Sauer is out for over 2 seasons, and D. Plentauf (spelling???) should not have been allowed to play with him out. Maybe cap the suspension at 1 full season of games, but this couple of games suspension is ridiculously low.
