Yankee Draft `13: Rounds 21-25

In rounds 21-25 the Yanks went pitching and college heavy.   In the 21st, the Yanks took another LHP in Ethan Carnes out of Oklahoma, he's listed at 6'4" 205,  and BA called him a touch and feel lefty, though reports have him 89-93.   I hope we get a look at this guy.   There are certain truths about LHP's and the athletic looking types are a pretty reliable model.

In the 22nd, they took Derek Toadville, a collegiate 2B who checks in at 5'10" 175 and may profile as a UT in the bigs.   He had a nice year with the bat, but is another guy who didn't have the 1.0 separation between BA and OBP, but he seems to steal bases, and obviously had a nice workout with the Yanks.

In 23, they went back to JuCo and took RHP Alex Polanco, he's 6'4" and 230.   Probably a hard thrower, but not all of these JuCo guys end up signing.   We'll have to see.

In 24, they took Sam Agnew-Weiland, RHP our of Appy State.   This guy is 6'1" 210, which used to be called the bulldog build., and he has continually improved in college.  I have a feeling the Yanks will give us a surprisingly good report on him.

Finally, they went for another Prep Lefty in jumbo signed Jordan Floyd.  This kid is 6'4" and 240 or so.  And he's been adding vela as he's developed.   He's just upper 80's now, but this is a very projectible prospect for whom I hope the Yanks have a workable plan.

Still no Catcher.
