NYR Coach Hunt `13: If They Wanted Mess --

Another thought on Mark Messier.   He's a member of the Ranger front office and has been since 2009.  If Sather really wanted Messier to be coach, wouldn't he have walked down the hall or skied down the mountain and asked him before firing Torts?  Wouldn't they have divined his answer and announced him right after firing Torts?   But as this point they've already gotten permission to talk to Eakins and Vigneault which wouldn't have happened if they wanted Messier because they would have offered it to him first.   Given all that, I would be very surprised of Mess is the new coach.   Maybe we'll get some news this week.  Let's Go Rangers!
