The NYG WR Situation

While Jerrel Jernigan is finally getting some reps in OTA's, Hakeem Nicks has joined Victor Cruz in his absence.    Hakeem's agent says it is not about the the contract.  But, of course, George Young used to say that when they say it's not about the money, it is about the money.  And I think George would be right in this case.   I think the Giants are negotiating an extension with Hakeem and that because he was hurt during last year's OTA's. he's somewhat concerned about getting hurt again and messing up his extension - like the recently retired Steve Smith did a few years ago.

In fact, I believe the Giants will get both Hakeem and Victor Cruz extended by the start of camp.   It would behoove both the Giants and wr's to get the deals done by the veteran mini-camp which runs from June 11 to June 13.    After that it will start costing Hakeem and Victor money, and would also start costing the Giants offense some continuity.   Meanwhile, hopefully Jernigan and Ruben Randle get up to speed.   I don't much trust Louis Murphy's hands, and we're gonna need the young guys to step up, even when Nicks and Cruz get back.   Go Giants!
