Yanks Beat A's

Curtis Granderson and the Yanks built up a good lead for Bartolo Colon, who was one again sharp, then had to hold on as David Robertson, Mo Rivera and went conditions almost cost them the game. Colon pitching well was a great sign. Nunez seems to be heating up at the plate a bit, too. The bullpen gave up fly balls, and the OF was so wet, some of them turned into doubles. Good win and getaway day. One week to the deadlines, and as happens every year, some of the Yanks best prospects have been struggling this week and probably will until the deadline passes. It must be tough. Let's see if the Yanks can finally go 20 games over tomorrow.

Have to like what we've seen lately out of Zoilo Almonte, Mason Williams, Angelo Gumbs, Cito Culver and Dante Bichette Jr.

Sherman said today that Cash wont trade Montero unless a #1 SP is available.. Finally some common sense. (Also Banuelos,Bentaces,Romine were mentioned as off limts which we knew)

Romine shouldn't be off limits.

Phil you think Sanchez will be the best of the bunch?

As a catcher, but Montero still looks like the best hitter.

No reason to deal either IMO, unless you are getting King Felix type back. W Po gone this off season Montero has to make the bug club no questions
