Get Jimmer
Jimmer Freddett, the BYU star who grew up playing hoops against the inmates at his local prison, is the guy the Knicks should really try to get next week. Now it may be tough, because Utah picks 5 picks ahead of the Knicks, but they should do what they can to get this Upstate New Yorker with the limitless range. He has done a lot better on the athletic tests than some expected him today, but not better than you'd expect if you watched him play. Yes, he has limitless range, but he's also strong as hell for his size and can take it to the rack against anyone. People are throwing out Mark Price comps but I see him as stronger and more explosive. Anyway, he'll be a point guard at least nominally, and that works with the Knicks if they intend to run the O through Carmelo, which was what D'Antoni was talking about toward the end of the year. He would also replace the shooting we lost when we trade Gallo.
The Knicks should do what they can here, and also consider giving the MLE to DeAndre Jordan of the Clippers who only got just over a 1 million dollar 1 year offer from his team yesterday. Of course that would preclude signing a 3rd superstar, but it wouldn't preclude sign and trading for one. Go Knicks!
