Yanks Crush Texas

With Gardy and the top of the line-up now that Derek Jeter is in the DL, the Yanks scored 12 times and CC Sabathia gave up 4 runs over 7 innings. CC was a little better than that, but they missed a play behind him. Meanwhile Grandy hit his 21st and knocked in 4 more runs. Cano and Swisher also homered. Po stayed hot, as did Tex. Nunez had two hits playing short. Arod had two hits. The whole line-up is working except Cervelli, and still no Montero in sight. It was a good team effort, and it would great to see more offense more consistently. Hopefully the Montero move will come soon. Go Yanks!

A big gripe I have about this team is how it's refusing to give its young players a chance this season.

In Colon's spot, we're getting a 30-something-year-old journeyman instead of Hector Noesi. Heck, I wouldn't be opposed to Betances starting a few games with the understanding that he's just getting some valuable experience, and isn't here to try and "impress."

Meanwhile, Martin is hurt, and Cervelli is utterly useless, and yet Montero is STILL in AAA after a year and a half.

MIke/Phil would you be opposed to making a run for Reyes in the off-season? I know I know... Move Jeter to 3rd and A-Rod to DH.. Yeah he is having a great season b/c of a contract year, but he undeniably has talent, and would provide a different dimension to the lineup.
