Yanks Clobber Tribe

Ivan Nova had one of his best starts of his young career as he gave the Yanks 7 strong inning of 2 run ball. The Yanks bats arrived as Granderson and ARod went deep and the Yanks posted 11 runs. Fausto Carmona, after giving up 3 runs in the first, threw a pitch to Tex that would have hit him in his head had he not ducked and taken it on top of the shoulder. Tex would later hit a 3 run triple. Cano had three hits of his own, and Po continues to come around. The bullpen made it interesting in the 8th and 9th. Kevin Whelan in his major league debut gave up 4 straight walks, creating a run. In the 9th, Sanit and others gave up 2 more runs, then Mariano came in in a non-save situation, and gave up a hit, making it 11-7. Then Mo settled down and got the last two outs. I hope Whelan gets some more chances. He's been excellent in Scranton this year. I think the Yanks might start rolling now Hopefully Montero will be up soon. Go Yanks!

Sooner or later, Girardi is going to have to order someone to plunk the other team's star hitter. This has gotten out of hand. He's also going to have to start telling his pitchers to begin brushing back the Red Sox before any of the Yankees are hit.
