Yanks Go DES Bat in 3rd
Yanks went for an advanced bat in the 3rd. Robert Segedin, a 3b from Tulane, is one of the best hitters in the draft. He has an advanced approach, and produces good pop. He's a big kid, and has fallen DES signability issues and past back problems. A really nice pick, but signability will be a factor. From here on out, I will probably just post the signability guys. Go Yanks!

I love to see them spend big bucks on the draft.
btw, What does DES mean?
Draft-eligible sophomore in college.
Mason Williams was the 4th rounder. Another CF. Just 6'1" and 150 right now, but with surprising pop.
Thomas Khanle RHP Lynn College in the 5th. 6'1" and thick. Won most outstanding player in the east regional as a Frosh. He's a junior now.
Gabe Encinas, RHP St. Paul HS, CA. Kid gets a lot of grounders and has an outstanding changeup. Committed to Loyola-Marymount.
I'd like to get excited about these kids but it is such a long road to the majors. Hopefully we will find the next Jeter or Bernie.
Kyle Roller 1B, East Carolina. This guy is a college senior our first, and therefore cheap.
Yanks just took Taylor Morton, high upside RHP with a commit to Tennessee. 6'4' 200 good velo, K'd Bryce Harper, etc. Tons of projectability. Big signability issue.
Ben Gamel, OF, Bishop Kenny HS, FL
Matt Gamel's bro.
Zach Varce RHP Portland U. Undersized strikeout machine who wore down as a starter and will probably be a reliever for us.
Daniel Burawa, RHP St. John's. He's a junior with mid-90's gas and a weird background.
Tyler Austin, OF Heritage HS, GA. No info yet. We are loading up on OF's.
Apparently, he's a power hitting catcher, not an OF.
Travis Dean, RHP, Newton South HS, MA.
Chase Whitley, RHP, Troy.
Evan Rutckyj, LHP, St. Joseph's HS, Canada.
Preston Claiborne, RHP, Tulane.
Kevin Jacob, RHP GA Tech.
