No Arbitration
The Yanks, today, passed up offering arbitration to Damon, Matsui, Andy and the rest of their free agents. This means should the team lose any of them, they will not receive draft pick compensation. Apparently, Cash told a breakfast crowd that they would like to have them all back at "the right price." I think that means only at the right price and we could see some turnover in Left and and DH. I assume Andy will be back. Go Yanks.

Per someone who posts on the LoHud Yankees Blog:
"So Cashman said today that he will not give up draft picks for middle relievers, Andy is the centerpiece of rebuilding the rotation, he would want everyone back from last years team at the right price and he expects payroll to be lower than last year.
That seems to write off any speculation on the Atlanta relievers, getting a starter until Andy makes a decision and adding a big $$$ free agent for the OF."
I hope any decision to go after Halladay is not predicated on what Andy decides.

Of course it wouldn't be. Cash has said stuff like this before to lower expectations and disguise plans in the offseason. Remember, Enrique Wilson is gonna be our 3b? Or Bubba Crosby is gonna be our CF? Or "I've instructed Phil Coke to prepare as a starter?" They're gonna hit the rotation and LF hard. I don't know what else they're gonna do on the major league level.
IYO, do they bring Damon back?

I'm not sure. I was told something that made me think he's not their first choice in Left.
What was said? If you don't want to post it for the public, feel free to email me at mdkerekes@crimson.ua.edu.
Perhaps they're looking to get younger?

Yanks want Holliday in LF.
Maybe.
Phil are both Halladay and Holliday feasible or not in the budget?
I don't know. Probably depends on whether or not they can move some salary.
It might be possible if they don't resign Andy and go with CC/Doc/AJ/Joba/Hughes. Don't tend Mitre, Bruney, Gaudin, Wang and trade Melky, Igawa(eat whatever is needed).
