IFA Heating Up for the Yanks

While there has been no movement on the ARoldis Chapman front, the Yanks have been busy in the IFA market. We told you about Moronta yesterday, and today we find they also signed a 6'7" LHP named Bautista who is 18 and throws 90. He's very projectable and sounds like Turley. They are also close to signing a couple of toolsy shortstops, as well as several Cubans. I don't know if this means they are more or less likely to sign Chapman, I just know that each signing grows the farm. Go Yanks!

We need a SS in about 3-4 years.

They're working on it.

I really hope the Yankees understand the importance of our next shortstop coming from within. We would save sooooo much money that way.

They want to grow one. It's a shame Angelini has been too stubborn to adjust. They thought he had some similarities. Same with Henry. Guys just didn't develop. But they keep adding SS's and someone will establish himself.

Pirela seems interesting.

Hanley Ramirez will be a FA eventually.

Hanley is a shortstop only in the sense that he fields that position when he's playing defense.
