The House That Melky Built

He did it again. This time in the 8th, Melky came up, after Cano had walked and Matsui had made out, to smack a two run homer into the leftfield seats. The Yanks had come back from down 5-1 and 6-5 to tied it earlier, but Melky's blast was the game winner. That was the 6th time he's had a go ahead hit this year and he's just been amazing in these situations. Wang was not sharp in his return, giving up 5 runs over 4.2 innings. Aceves came in and was pretty good, but gave up a homer. Coke and Robertson were pure, and Mo worked out of trouble in the 9th to save the game. This team is something else. CC goes tomorrow. Go Yanks!

Melky's performance, along with Hughes recent outing, are strong examples that you must give your young players a chance to develop before you declare them not worthy to be Yankees. Fans wanted to switch Melky and Gardner for Cameron over the winter. Now, we are quite pleased with our two young outfielders. Go Yanks.
