Rangers Nab Gilroy

The Rangers have signed impressive Boston U defenseman Matt Gilroy to a multiyear deal. Gilroy is a late bloomer who stayed in school past his draftable years and will be a 25 year old rookie next year. Matt is an offensive defenseman and seems to be a significantly better prospect than Dan Girardi was when we signed him as a post collegiate FA. Hopefully he can team with Girardi and Staal, Sangs, Del Zotto, Sauer and Potter to give the Rangers a top notch defense in the not too distant future. Good move!

Very good move, what was once a weakness is now a strength of our farm system.

It really is. We now have 3 terrific puck movers.

We definitely do. This makes the likes of Ros and or Redden more expendable down the line as we can use them to help free up cap or acquire other assets. Sather every now and again makes a good move or two.
