Captain Clutch!

In the last game of their long, 9 game road trip to open the season, Derek Jeter lead the way. The Yanks got another quality start from Andy Pettitte who went 7.1 allowing 3 runs before giving way to Brian Bruney for 2 more K's. The Yanks were still down 3-2 (after a Cano homer had tied the game at 2) to start the 8th when doubles by Jeter and Damon tied it up. Failure to drive in Damon kept it 3-3 in the 9th, when doubles by Cody Ransom and Derek Sanderson Jeter untied the game, giving Mariano Rivera a one run least to protect in the ninth. And protect it he did with a 1-2-3 save. Huge win for the Yanks who open the stadium tomorrow with a winning record! We should know the final word on Nady tomorrow. Go Yanks!
