Great Graves

The Rangers are retiring #9 tonight for good, old Adam Graves. Just as Lou Gehrig and not Babe Ruth was the "Ideal Yankee," Graves and not Messier was the "Ideal Ranger." A selfless player who would take whatever action was needed to win a game, a fight or a point, he was all about team. You can't have enough of those guys, and the Rangers are making a great example for their young players by hanging up his jersey tonight. Meanwhile, on the game side, Anisimov will debut. Hopefully the presence of Graves, Messier, Richter and Leetch will point Anisimov, who was scoring a little better than a point a game as a 20 year old in Hartford, in the right direction.
