Plax:No Action by the League

Commissioner Goodell said, during his state of the league press conference today that because Plaxico Burress is a first time offender, they are just going to let the legal system do what it does before deciding if there will be anything else. So as of right now, Plax just has his trial to worry about. I wouldn't be surprised if there was no trial and if there was a community service mandate by March.

This could be fantastic. If we can get the Plax pre-2008 back, pick up a #1 free agent wideout, re-sign Jacobs, and have a great draft...we could get back to talking dynasty again rather than watching tha Cardinals in the SB.

I'm still thinking dynasty regardless of what happens with Tex.

Tex. That's good. You must admit that Plax helps open the field. I'm not a big proponent of his attitude or IQ, but we do need a special receiver that will help open things for Eli. Perhaps JR will find that person in the draft, but that takes some luck and some years of learning for a new receiver. I like our kids but I'm not convinced we have a #1. An adjusted Plaxico may be the answer.

I think we'll get at least 1 veteran WR and one in the draft regardless of what happens with Plax. Funny I wrote Tex. I've been thinking about the Yanks all day.

I was laughing because I thought that you may be calling Plax...Tex... because of his gunslinging.

Schefter was on Francesa the other day and he said he thought Ocho Cinco would be the best play for the Giants. He said in the locker room he is much better then Braylon, and not only would he come on the cheap he would be motivated. He did not think Boldin would get moved. He like you Phil thinks draft and vet WR, says Giants have too much invested in Eli not to get a big name WR.

Not sure what to make of Glazer's report about the Giants being interested in Gonzalez again.

I would be willing to take a chance on Ocho Cinco if he does not cost too much. Perhaps a 4th. He is tough, talented, and from reports, a pretty good teammate. Perhaps he will temper the other stuff with age. Eli needs targets with good hands and the ability to get seperation and Ocho Cinco may be able to provide this for a few more years.
