Batting 3rd and 4th
Joe Girardi, is leaning toward hitting Mark Teixeira 3rd and Alex Rodriguez 4th this year. Girardi like to go right/left up and down the order and feels having the switchhitting Tex between Jeter and ARod will give him what he's looking for, against righties at least. Interestingly, while Tex raked against lefties and righties last year, ARod didn't do particularly well against lefties. Let's hope he's back to killing both this year. It looks like Matsui will bat 5th and DH. They'll only play him in the outfield if there's an emergency. When healthy over the last two years, Hit-Deki has raked, so let's hope he can keep that up. Some arrangement of Cano, Posada, Swisher/Nady and Melky/Gardner will fill out the line-up.

I'm looking for 5,6, and 7 to have great years. I think Matsui could rake, and Posada and Cano will have big years with the bats. This will take pressure off 3 and 4 and allow them to be comfortable without pressure. I hope we can see 1 and 2 consistently getting on base. That's my bigger concern.
