Antropov on the Way?

There's a rumor going around that the Maple Leafs, unable to reach a new deal with 6'6" power forward Nik Antropov are looking to deal him and that the Rangers are leading the pack for his services. Obviously, but Antropov with Dubinsky and Zherdev this year, then with Anisimov and Zherdev next year (if the Niks can be extended) would create at least one balanced line for the Rangers. That would be a start. Of course the devil is in the details and we'd have to hope one of our big, stupid contracts was headed the other way in this deal. It would also be good to hang onto Grachev, Sanguinetti and Del Zotto in any deal, but who knows if that can be done. Go Rangers.

As a long time Leaf fan, I can only hope this rumour does not bear fruit. As one of the few who has been a fan of Antropov's for more than 18 months, I have been so relieve in the past when he contract has be re-newed. We've waited a long time to see him healthy and playing close to his potential. His play of late seems a bit lackluster but I do believe the uncertainty is wearing him.

Anyways, if I had any say, it would be "No Nik for you!".

Believe me, if a deal does happen and the Rangers include Grachev, Sanguinetti or Del Zotto, I will wish it didn't happen.
