Lowe Offer Also On the Way?

The Yanks may also be making an offer to Derek Lowe some time in the next 24 hours or so. Yankee fans are, of course, familiar with Lowe from his days with the Sox. These day's he's still a sinkerballer, he just doesn't throw quite as hard but has put up terrific ERA+'s over the last few years with the Dodgers. It is unclear whether or not the Yanks would be willing to sign CC, AJ and Lowe, but obviously if they did, that would spell the end of Andy as a Yankee. It seems more likely that the Yanks want to have offers out to the three top pitchers to put signing pressure on CC, then if he signs, they will only sign one of the other two and bring back Andy. Andy's 200 innings for 1 year are still better than signing either of the other over 30 pitchers to multi-year pacts. We'll see. I still think we need some O. Go Yanks.
