Yanks Set to Bid on Burnett

The Yanks are apparently set to make an offer to AJ Burnett either later today or tomorrow. The Braves weighed in earlier offering 4 year with a vesting option for a 5th with an aav of about 15M. The Yanks could probably beat that aav but if they do, it will hopefully enable them to make the odious 5th year a team option rather than vesting option. Burnett, because of past health and consistency, is not the ideal target, but his stuff is great, and if he can be kept healthy into the post season, he might earn his keep there. In other new, Cash is supposedly on his way to California to meet with Scott Boras. The buzz is that they intend to make an official offer to Lowe during that meeting. I'll bet you two things: first, Cash and Boras talk about more than Lowe; and second; that Cash is also going to speak to CC Sabathia and his agent. We'll see. Go Yanks.
