Knicks Get Out of Jail!

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News is reporting that the Knicks have indeed traded Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins to Golden State for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley. Talent-wise the best player in the deal was Randolph, but Thomas and Cuttino can both hit threes and Mobley even plays D! Cap-wise, this is amazing! Donnie Walsh, with two moves, coming just hours apart, has created the necessary 2010 cap room for the Knicks to sign Lebron James, and another max contract player, like Chris Bosh. Our long national nightmare is over! The Knicks now have flexibility and might even be able to make a few more moves to get better while we wait for Lebron. Donnie Walsh is a genius!

I think they might combine Lee and Curry and send it somewhere, and might be able to get something for their other expirings.

Really? WOW!!! You think this is immiment? I think Lee is a nice player but will be dealt, b/c he will over-value himself to the Knicks in the future

I don't know when it will happen, but I think in the next few months they'll do some other things.

If Donnie gets rid of Curry as well? What an accomplishment, I do think Curry will be moved, and attaching Lee to him will make it that much easier.

The fact we got a pick is impressive, if it was a number one even more so. We got another asset which is amazing all things considered.
