Bad Ass Koong Fu Flicks

Avenging Eagle (Shaw Brothers, 1978) directed by Sun Chung and starring Ti Lung, Alexander Fu Sheng and Ku Feng. Check this out Ku Feng plays an absolutely ruthless version of a Kung Fu Fagen called "Godfather". He takes a bunch of orphans and raises whoever can survive his ruthless upbringing into the 13 Eagles of the Iron Boat Gang. He uses them to rob, murder and get revenge for any slight he's ever felt. Ti Lung play Chik, #3 star of the 13 Eagles, who after he is injured abandoned after a robbery gone sideways, is rescued by a kindly family and begins to learn what being human is all about. After returning to the Iron Boat Gang, he's forced to witness the slaughter of those who helped him and decides to leave the gang. In his journey, he is united with another seemingly lost soul played by Alexander Fu Sheng. Together they set out to clean up the Iron Boat Gang - but what is Fu Sheng hiding?

This is one of the greatest Kung Fu flicks ever cooked up and it must be seen by anyone with any interest in the genre. If the script had been originated in America, Sam Fuller might well have directed it. Can you dig it?
