The Rangers beat the Devils 5-2 on 2 goals from Nik Zherdev and goals from Rozsival, Drury and Lauri Korpikoski's first NHL goal. It was another game where the Rangers came out flat, got outplayed and fell behind before waking up. And wake up they did for a 4 goal in 8 minutes outburst that basically put the game away. During those 8 minutes they got 2 goals during 5 on 3 powerplays, but more importantly, they shot the puck. And for those 8 minutes, they actually looked like they were trying to score and not trying to make the goalie look like Dryden. Still , after going up 4-1, the Rangers went back to playing slowly and not putting in a ton of effort. So, though it was a win over a rival, the 60 minute performance was still not there.
