The Sniper on TCM
The Sniper (Columbia, 1952) was directed by heavy hitter Edward Dmytryk and shot by Bernard Guffey. It stars Adolph Menjou, Marie Windsor(!), Richard Kiley, Frank Faylen, Arthur Franz and Gerald Mohr. This noir, about a young psychopath who goes around shooting women in San Francisco, is thought to have influenced the Zodiac Killer. When you see the gunsight logo's all over it, you'll understand the assumption. It's a taut tale with Menjou playing against type as the top cop. Good stuff and they are showing it on TCM at 2:30 pm est. What better way to spend the pre-Giants Columbus Day?
