Safe!
No worries, people. The man himself has said he's not trading Cano or Kennedy, so add them to the list of homegrowns he's protected. He's not doing anything dumb at the trade deadline. Rest easy. Go Yanks!
UPDATE: The Trades are starting around baseball with Texieria to the Braves reportedly done as well as Jorge Cantu to the Reds. Should be a fun next few days, especially since we know the Yanks have nothing stupid planned.

i dunno what my guy was talking about then...sorry for the false info
So is Konerko still an option?
I have heard of:
Qualls
Wheeler
Gagne
Lidge
All of these guys would be a boost to the BP.
We could then dump both Proctor and Farnsworth and bring up Chamberlain.
dan, I think your guy was either given false info, or was listening to someone who doesn't have the power to make or unmake trades like Cash does.
Anthony, we'll see, seems like Farnsworth, Igawa and Proctor are in play from our side and maybe someone like Marquez or Karstens etc. It would be a little painful to part with Marquez so it had better bring something great back.
I don't know what Konerko would cost, but it had better be cheap. He comes with a lot of years and dollars.
i doubt konerko will get done, just because its 3 days left, so they might not be able to get a deal done in time, but we should see if Cashman can get something done
I think i would want Gagne here
Cash has made deals with Williams before even right at the deadline (Contreras). I wouldn't be surprised if we got a few things done before Tuesday. Remember there might be things on the commish's desk right now that don't become official till Monday.
like Texiera to Atlanta
yeah, that's fine. Glad we didn't make the sacrifices that would have required. Miranda will be ready next year and hopefully his D will be better then.
Are we going to do anything?
probably.
I wonder how serious Atlanta wanted Damon. It seems like we are going to address the pen.
What was up with Wiggy for Wheeler? I don't see either at their final destination.
I don't want either of them. Gardner and Eric Duncan didn't play tonight.
Interesting. Is someone like a Gagne in play for us? If he is willing to setup I like our pen much better, and that could make Farns and Proctor expendable.
we gave apparently offerred Gardner and Clippard for Gagne. They'd be nuts to turn that down.
I think I would make that deal, what are your thoughts? If healthy Gagne is going to be a big asset.
I'd make that deal. Melky's younger than Gardner and Kennedy has moved ahead of Clippard as our off speed rotation guy of the future, so he'd only be blocked.
Melky has definitely earned his stripes on this team.I like this potential deal for the reasons you mention. If this deal goes through would Proctor for Betemit be re-visited? Or would we look for someone else?
If this goes through I'd imagine Proctor and/or Farnsworth will be headed elsewhere.
I think its a win win b/c we could get more prospects for the minors or major leaguers depending on which of the two or both may go.
I am looking fwd to the next few days to see what Cash comes up with.
In Cash We Trust
I second that In Cash we Trust!!
we gave apparently offerred Gardner and Clippard for Gagne. They'd be nuts to turn that down.
Rumor has it this is done.
Yup, that's the rumor. I have gotten no confirmation on it, though.
