Another Day, Another Big Hit

ARod had the big hit (a double) in the Yanks 4 run seventh tonight. The Yanks were down 1-0 going into the 7th and had only been kept alive by a series of big pitches from Roger Clemens who battled for 6 long innings. Andy Phillips also had a big hit, and the Yanks tacked on 2 more in the 8th. Mo got a 5 out save and won't be available during tomorrow's day game. The Yanks can get a jump on the teams they are trailing by taking tomorrow's series finale. Go Yanks!

big win tonight!! Need to get the sweep tomorrow. A-Rod delivers again. Maybe Edwar will get to pitch one of these days?

I like the Durazo signing, but am not crazy on Proctor for Betemit, but would deal him in the right deal.

Yeah, Betemit is versatile but doesn't walk. Do you use a big trading chip on a replacement for Cairo?

Absolutely not. If you use a big chip you must get something substantial in return. I think Cash is smart enough to know that he would not be maximizing our assets if he pulled off that deal.

I do get the sense that Cash is going to change a piece or two in the pen and perhaps add a bat off the bench.

We're gonna get a bat for sure. We might do the pen from within the organization.

Betemit actually is walking this year and is on a pace to draw maybe 60 walks.

I do like Betemit, but just not sure for Proctor. If we could get him for something else I would definitely be interested. That said I think that one of Proctor/Farnsworth are prime to go. Joe's usage of the pen is what worries me. Francesa said we should use Joba out of the pen.. I was like okay just shut up now. He claims to be a Yankee fan, but has no idea what he is speaking of.

I wonder if Cashmans thinking will change at 1b with Philips starting to play really well both in the field and at the plate?

?

Betemit's IsoD is .121. Trade Proctor for him and stick him at 1st, no?

laser,

we could move him around, he plays everything but catcher.

That's one of the reasons I like Betemit,is his ability to play many positions. It would give us more flexibility with the lineup.
