Knicks Draft Scenarios
What will be done with the 23rd pick? Will it be used or traded? Will Isiah finally buy back in to the draft if he sees players he likes falling? Word is that something may be up with the Nuggets - the very team they fought!

Also recieved email 5 minutes ago Knicks are also in deep talks with twolves for garnett...something most likely go down by thursday for whatever team he is traded to

I was told Mchale has two offers one from us and one from lakers and hes gonna propose both of them tomorrow to ownership
McHale has spent a career screwing the Knicks.
I'm not sure if I posted it here, but Stephen A. Smith has said that Garnett was the most obtainable big time target.
Obviously, Lee would likely be going to Minnesota in any trade, which would be disappointing. Garnett, while still very good, has likely begun to decline.
Isiah better not trade any future first round picks that aren't at least top three protected.

Aight 1 hour after posting what i got, i got another email saying Lakers offered Bynum and Odom and a filler for Garnett and im pretty sure Minnesota accepted the deal and now im thinking to myself wtf is Mchale doing
So then both Kobe and Garnett are off the market and out here.

I guess drafting Wilson Chandler could be viewed as Isiah having learned that lesson.

After speaking with a league source, I think the deal has some legs, though it doesn't appear imminent.
According to the source, the key to completing the deal is finding a fourth team that would (a) take Jermaine O'Neal and (b) send the Timberwolves enough pieces to complete the deal.
Despite reports to the contrary, the Celtics are balking at including the player the Timberwolves want in the deal -- Al Jefferson. According to a different league source, if Minnesota insists on Jefferson, it's a deal killer for Boston.
However, the deal could work without Jefferson, if Minnesota lowered its sights a little.
For instance, here's one scenario that could work:
The Wolves send Kevin Garnett and Marko Jaric to the Lakers.
The Lakers send Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum to the Pacers and the No. 19 pick to the Wolves.
The Pacers send O'Neal to the Celtics.
The Celtics send the No. 5 pick, Theo Ratliff, Gerald Green and Sebastian Telfair to Minnesota.
I really hope Mchale did not accept that weak offer.
Real GM says McHale did not like the offer so lets hope...

The owners of the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves have begun talks for a trade that would involve sending Kevin Garnett to the Lakers, NBA sources said Monday.
The talks turned into discussions about a four-way deal among the Lakers, Timberwolves, Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics , in which the Lakers would have gotten Garnett. However, the deal broke down, reportedly because the Celtics did not like what they would have gotten, ending the four-way negotiations.
The Lakers are now back to direct two-team talks with the Timberwolves. However, sources say, Minnesota General Manager Kevin McHale wants young players and high draft choices and isn't keen on the Lakers' offer of Andrew Bynum, who is young (19), and Lamar Odom (27), who isn't

Dan hears we are offering Jefferies and Collins for the 18th pick and Foyle (big contract). Because of the size of the contract, we'd keep the 23rd pick, too.
I'd take it at this point. Face it we are never going to get under the cap anytime soon.

yup, Steph, Francis and Foyle are all off the books in 2009.
That's even better then I thought. I say go for it. Get rid of Jefferies a bust as far as I am concerned
