Giants Today

The Giants should finally start getting a few things done this week. Having missed on their larger targets, the Giants will now sure up their young roster with half a dozen or so 2nd tier signings, include some LB's and a DT, perhaps, Ian Scott. This isn't a bad tack to take given the market and the amount of good young talent on the roster. Why block them? Just sure up the holes and have a monster draft. Go Giants!

Good Morning. I had posted in the thread from last night before I saw this one. Basic point was that teams know Chicago has to deal Briggs based on his statements, thus greatly reducing his trade value. I wonder if they will just remove the tag? I would bet if they do we will be the first ones calling his agent. I do not want to ruin our cap flexibility and draft for one player. The positive to us not signing Davis or Clements is that it will give us that flexibility going forward as I mentioned yesterday, that could be very useful especially if we hire a new coach.

Yeah, I'd see if he's released, but I'm not crazy eager to tie up a ton of cap room in a 4-3 LB.

We cannot have a short sided approach to this. Briggs is definitely an upgrade, but it has to be done on our terms.

I'd rather put a patch there and either wait for Wilkinson to step up, or draft someone we think can help us.

I have a certain amount of ambivalence, it would chase Carter off the roster, but, I really love the WR's in the draft this year and think we should take 1.

i have no problem with that toomer might have a year left, u would have plax, moss, curtis and draft pick

yeah, it'll work. I'm leaning toward Meachem in the first if he's there.

I think Curtis would be a solid add. He kind of reminds me of a smaller version of Ed McCaffery as in the possession receiver. He could become that safety net for Eli thus allowing Toomer to run different routes that can diversify the offense.

even if Rice, Bowe and Jarret are still available

Carter has proven of no use. The first year he stays healthy he cannot catch squat. Hopefully they allow Moss to develop more. 4 wide set of Plax/Curtis Toomer/Moss or interchange the combo's could prove helpful in Eli's growth.

I like Jarrett myself of the three

Jarrett is the only one I might take instead, but I think Meachem can be Owens II without the defects.
