Favorite Comic Book Covers!
Mighty Thor #366. This isn't really one of my favorite comic covers, but it gives me a chance to talk about Walt Simonson, who I've mentioned before. Walt hit the scene in the early `70's and got this kid's attention by reviving an old Simon/Kirby DC character called the Manhunter from the Golden Age of Comics. Simonson's art for the feature, which appeared, I think, in the back of Detective comics. It was one of the coolest features I had even seen and my memories of it are great. Anyway, Walt went on to great success with Thor (and the goofy identity games he'd play with him), X-Men, and Superman, but I don't think his art was every again at the level it was on Manhunter. His story telling sure was, but not the actual drawings. See if you can find Manhunter.
