More Yanks!

Apparently, the Yanks are still in the market for another starter. Names being bandied about in the articles are Lilly, Meche, Batista, Pettitte, Clemens and now Padilla. Obviously the best buy will be whoever will except the shortest deal. That would put Clemens, Pettitte and Batista at the top of the list. Of the pitchers who will require 4 year deals, Padilla is probably better than Lilly and Meche, but has had some off field issues down in Nicaragua. Whatever the Yanks are able to do here, it's important that they not block the kids who'll be ready in `07,`08,`09 etc, and that they get something GOOD for Pavano. Hopefully, something from the Nats.

The Yanks remain in the hunt for a back-up catcher, 1st baseman, UT and lefty in the pen. Let's hope they are all upgrades over last year's performers at those spots.
