Yanks Clinch a Wild Card
Aaron Hicks just hit a walkoff double in the 11th score Didi and send the Yanks to their latest postseason. The wild card is "not what you want" but with all of the injuries and slumps, it's a wonder they made it at all. They have 8 games left and still need to clinch homefield advantage, if they can. Still between slumps, Hicks has been great at the plate, and proved his pinstripes once again by walking them off and into the playoffs.

Hicks needs a 3/30 contract from the Yanks this offseason.
My guess he wants and gets more.
Every day another weird lineup

5. 3B Miguel Andujar
6. 1B Neil Walker

Fuck Boone.
Cashman better freakin wake up.
Before today
RAB: Cole has allowed 17 runs (six homers!) in his last 15 innings
Boone is literally an idiot.
I apologize to Girardi. He is a genius compared to this asshole.
Boone’s has managerial judgment has been so inexplicably bad that I seriously think he needs a neurological exam to rule out a
Didi could be out for the season with a wrist injury. Thinking they have to go with Gleyber at SS and Walker at 2B.
Shit
Following today’s game Aaron Boone announced Didi Gregorius tore cartilage in his right wrist sliding into home plate on Aaron Hicks’ walk-off double yesterday night. Gregorius went for an MRI today and received a cortisone shot, and will be re-evaluated in a few days. It’s not certain when he’ll return.
Might be best with Torres at SS and Walker at 2B. Hecheveria can spell Andujar at 3B if the game is close and late for defense.
Walker isn’t hitting.
Walker needs to play consistently to hit.
Yeah that’s true but I still don’t have confidence in him.
I am so down on Boone that it’s really taking the fun away from watching this team.
Holder opening.
Hech at SS.
Hicks tight left hamstring. Too many injuries not to look at their conditioning people.
Yanks interested in signing McCutchen if they can get him on a reasonable deal.
I like him but I think there are bigger priorities depending upon what they plan to spend in the aggregate.
In my opinion, the biggest priority of the off-season should be a tough introspective look at why Sanchez and Bird ave both flatlined. Yes, each bears significant individual responsibility, but is there something in the organization that isn’t being done right?
Torres scratched.
I think competent ML development could turn German into a star. I hope it’s here.
And then there were two
No way around it, Stanton has been a monumental disappointment relative to what’s expected of him. Sanchez, too, obviously, but he isn’t making millions. If I’m the GM I re-sign Cutch at a reasonable price, ink Machado and look into trading Stanton to LA.
We will see what Hal is willing to spend. They can save Gardner’s salary but they also will re-sign a reliever, either Robertson or Britton.
CC is the man.
Yeah, he's the boss.
Why was Green up if Boone wasn’t going to bring him in?
