Seigler Signs
Boom. Anthony Seigler has signed for slot, and thus should be able to rock and roll at the start of the GCL season, which is later this week or the following. So, unlike our last prep first rounder, he's not going lose development time waiting for a bigger bonus. Speaking of which, since there was no underslot deal for taking Anthony in the first, and both Breaux and Green are getting overslot deals it seems the Yanks might have used all of their 6-10 round savings on picks 2 and 3. So in that sense, this draft may be as top loaded as it looks on paper. If, indeed picks 1, 2 and 3 are essentially first round deals, we have to hope we got three first round talents. I sense we did.
Breaux had to be bought out of the Arkansas program where he would have been the C, and probably become a first round pick next year. I know some pundits view Breaux as bat first or bat only, his progress at C has been coming quickly, and the Yanks have to tools to measure and knowledge of the markers they look for in C's and hitters.
We knew Ryder Green was going to command big bucks the minute he was picked. He's a lot like Clint Frazier in terms of bat speed and power, and we'll have to see if he can stay in CF. But he is a very exciting talent.

I like paying for what you believe is high end.
Yup. And I dislike that the called up Torreyes when they put Matsui on the 10 day DL.
Nevin’s send put Torreyes on the roster. Ugh.
Frazier is destroying LHP. Torreyes destroys meritocracy.
Nice.
New post.
