Knicks Win!

Knicks just beat Memphis to win their home opener.  It was a game that wouldn't have been close if they hadn't missed double digit free throws. It was the Garden debut for Rose and Noah and neither disappointed.  When they were in together, the Knicks shared the ball and easily handled Memphis. Noah missed a bunch of time with fouls but still managed 10 boards and 7 assists.  Rose was not trying to score like he once did for the Bulls, but still managed some explosive highlights.  KP and Melo are going to go off playing with these two.  KP had some foul trouble, too, but still manage 21 points on limited shots.  Lee was solid on D and a big recipient of the quality ball movement in the first half.  This first unit could really turn into something if all 5 can stay healthy.  Also, the defense becomes about a million times better whenever Noah is on the floor.   KP and the other bigs really need to learn from him, because they are all game to play D, but the know how is lacking to one degree or another with all of them.

On the second unit, Jennings was, at times, out of control.  Justin Holliday had a decent night and played contentious D, KOQ was pretty solid, and Billy flashed but still made a few mistakes.

In all a big win over a quality opponent.

Very good win against a godo team. Grizzlies have an above average defense, ice to see the Knicks weren't pushed around, Noah already a fan gave!!

They have to further amend the intentional off the ball foul rule to include the entire game.

Capitalism is great, but $153m for Conley shows that something is terribly wrong with the NBA salary structure.

On to Game 6.

The Cowboys and Eagles have drafted better than us. Time for the Reese era to end.

Reese refusing to answer questions about John Brown and leaving that to everyone else when he's the one who signed him goes to show how terrible of a GM he is and he's never been held accountable for the bad drafts/signings.

He's a top a scout, but a very bad GM, and his cluelessness in this area further demonstrates that.

The Knicks have too many scoring options to just focus the offense on Melo in isolation

And obviously they're not playing defense, but I don't expect that yet.

It is bad enough having to watch Lance Thomas play ever, but taking away minutes from Zinger in the fourth quarter? Really?

Why did a relatively well-rested Knicks team run out of gas in teh 4th quarter? And where was any kind of defense in the first half? It's going to take some time to get this thing working. I thought they would be OK after camp, but with Rose missing all that time, as well as Noah, I guess it'll take 5-7 more games to start to jell.

They are awful right now.

It's kind of head scratching that the Knicks practice against the triangle. As if all teams are using it? This is ridiculous. If you want to use the triangle, Jackson had to be the coach. Since he physically can't do that, cut the shit, lose the id and face reality.

I'm not sure who is more psychotic about the Knicks, Berman or Isola.
