Yanks Win Again

Chris Young hit another homer, and Gardy and Dellin did what they do.  Yanks just won 4-2 and Dellin was able to finish the game and give Miller the day off.   Eovaldi may be coming along.  Remember he's only 25 and they're still working on things with him.  Big win.

I continue to think the offense is the real weakness on team not the pitching irrespective of Tanaka

I guess I've been dead wrong about Chris Young so far. I'd start him over Beltran at this point.

Big confidence builder for Eovaldi.

Beltran is going to get until the AS break, I would think.

If it continues to struggle and Young can offset that, great.

But they NEED to get younger key guys.

@Buster_ESPN: Yankees' pitching staff this year: 227 innings, 221 strikeouts.

Pitching and defense is doing it for the most part

I'm pretty sure you're just trolling us, but the Yankees are seventh in runs scored, likely thanks to the early successes of Teix, A-Rod, Young, Gardner and Ellsbury. So to suggest it's just "pitching and defense" absent of offense is just a tad bit absurd.

Wrong again about trolling. I said for the most part. One of the best bullpens in baseball and solid defense

Not denying that, but ultimately you have to score runs, and the Yankees are actually doing that so far.

If Pirela is really heating up, it's time to end this Petit experiment and play him at second some.

Yeah if Pirela's defense is improved at 2B.

Yanks have looked at Andy Ibanez and had a private workout with him.

Could be a long term solution to 2B.

If Pirela is anything approaching "adequate," he needs to be getting at-bats. At this point, there are four players on the roster that are essentially the same: Gregorius, Drew, Ryan and Petit.

Ibanez is a Cuban, which means Hal will pass.

Didi's defense has stunk.

Without the bats of A-Rod and Tex, they woukd have lost 5 more games.

Banking on that to continue requires a massive leap of faith.

That sound you're hearing is Slade Heathcott pounding on the door, ready to replace Beltran, who is done.

It would seem like a no-brainer to me

I know he has pitched well lately but I'm not a Rogers fan

Minor complaint, but it blow my mind how bad Yankee hitters can look against guys making their major-league debut, like they have with this guy the Sox brought in during the eighth.

Goodness, Miller had NOTHING after he walked Betts. Thank goodness Ellsbury can play D.
