Yanks Sign Bryan Emery
The Yanks have added another potentially big talent to their historical 2014 IFA class. Bryan Emery is a big OF, who was a later riser in July because he's from Colombia and not the DR or VZ. He had been a switch hitter, but he's just been hitting lefty for awhile. He's either 6'3" 190 or 6'4" 195, I've seen both listed, and he probably projects as a right fielder. He turned 16 in March, so he's a long way off, but as July 3rd approached he was flying up a lot of boards. This signing gives the Yanks ten of the presumptive top 30, and he might be right up at the top of the class. He has very loose actions. I know a certain YankyFan who will be thrilled with this news.

Good move. Maybe Hal is starting to get it?
Remember, they can go big on IFA's until, 6/15/15, after that, Hal gets to put his wallet away for 2 years.
Great!! Now get Moncada ...
I think that's the approach to take. It seems that sensible heads may prevail this winter... but I know it's early
Sounds good. My recollection is that they have signed several prospects in the different position-player groups (i.e. SS, 2B-3B, OF) plus some pitchers. Obviously these kids are several years from showing how far they can go and we're all hoping that lightning will strike somewhere so the more prospects we have the better chance we'll be covered in the higher levels of the minors in a few years. Do the Yanks feel as good about the people they have in the lower minors and short season, or do they feel they have gaps?
I think its nothing more then trying to build the strongest system they can. This signing is one that makes me happy because when he went by the way side i was pretty sure he would sign else where.
These kids they've signed are destroying all the other teams in the DR instructional league.
So happy today in Yankee land . We sign Emery and then protect Burwa and Pinder !!Yea
Hope they will be destroying the other teams in the GCL soon :-)
