Yanks Draft: Only 2 Top 100 Picks

What a difference from last year, when the Yanks had three first rounders.   This year they don't pick till 55th or 56th (Ive seen it listed both ways) and they their second pick in 93rd, and that's it for picks in the top 100.   Brutal.    Last year they had 4 in the top 100 and the 5th at 104.   After the first several hours they'll be picking every round and end up with 39 picks.   It will be interesting to see who ends up getting picked with the Yankees forfeited picks.   Back in 2009, it was Mike Trout...

Here's the thing with Trout. IF they were so intent on drafting him, you don't sign free agents that can cost you the pick. They can't have it both ways.

They knew they still had one, and felt Trout was going to make it to them because he was a local kid and had been somewhat under scouted.

They still had a pretty good draft that year, with Murphy and Warren, Heathcott being full of tool, an some other guys knocking.
