Rangers: Kings It Is

So in a dream scenario for the NHL and NBC Sports, the Los Angeles Kings will play the New York Rangers for the Stanley Cup.   I think the Rangers were 1-2 against the Kings in the regular season, losing twice to them early when they were switching systems, then beating them in March.   This should be a rough series, and perhaps a little rougher for the Rangers who have to travel West.    That said, claims about the superiority of West Coast hockey are probably overblown.    There wash;t much defense being played by the Kings of Hawks in game 7, and that will tend to make skill players look better.  

On a personal note, the Kings have been getting a big boost from former Ranger Marian Gaborik.    It's sort of funny that so many of Tortorella's former players are in this final -- but there's no Tortorella.    Odd how that worked out.   Should be a tight one, and I really hope the Rangers are up to the challenge.
