Tanaka Strong Again
Masahiro Tanaka pitched 7 innings of 3 run, 1 walk 10K ball. The runs all came on a 3 run jack he gave up in the second inning. From there, he get making adjustments and didn't give up another run. Pitch FX seemed to indicate he was getting squeezed at the top and bottom of the strike zone. Regardless, he's going to have to keep making adjustments while he figures things out, but the signs are very encouraging. Over 2 starts he has 18K's and 1 walk! It's a shame they couldn't get him a win.

So far, not much of a difference with the offense from last year to this year. Hope McCann can pick it up.
And the bullpen minus Robertson — yikes.
Kelley just isn't that good. Warren and Betances should get the high leverage innings.
Warren should be a long man. Betances has potential as a late-inning reliever but needs to be eased in. Nuno should be starting.
If the game is on the line, I would use Warren over Kelley. It would be nice to ease Betances in, but with Robertson out, that becomes a luxury.
I was thinking more long-term. At some point, they have to give Montgomery a shot, right?
(BTW, Anon, are you Rich who used to post on NYYFans, by chance?)
