Yanks Sign Brian Roberts
The Yanks have apparently signed Brian Roberts to a low-base low risk contract. It's been a long time since the former Oriole 2B was any good. This seems to be one of those situations where Cash is willing to throw a bunch of stuff against the wall to see if any will stick before making a more substantial move for a solution. As of right now, the Yankee infield looks scary bad.

It's a low risk, high reward type of signing.
Even if he gives us average production for 200 AB, it's a win.
Unless it's 200 ab's that would be better going elsewhere. The signed Scott Sizemore, too. So he's in the mix as well.
I'm beginning to question the logic behind making all these splashes if Cano's departure and A-Rod's suspension were going to leave the infield crippled.
Rebuilding was certainly the way to go. They could have even signed Tanaka and stayed under $189 million and reaped the benefits.
