Rangers Make Final Cuts

The strange development of Chris Kreider took another odd turn today as he was sent down along with Marek Hrivik, Oscar Linberg,  Brandon Mashinter, Darrol Powe, Conor Allen and Stubicle.  The Wolfpack is officially loaded.   Kreider is officially taking the Bernie Williams path to stardom, and I hope the Rangers aren't fools enough to trade him.   Falk made the team, which is sad.

On the bright side, JT Miller and Jesper Fast have also made the team to start the season.   We'll see what else develops from here.

Falk made the team because he is just another guy, not someone who is important to the future of the team. So if he sits 15 straight games in the press-box, no big deal. It would be a big deal though if a prospect like Conner Allen sat that many games.

Kreider was sent down because he is not yet a consistent player, and needs to just play game after game, top line minutes. He will get that opportunity in Hartford, but not in NY. Besides, Miller and Fast are probably heading down to Hartford after Cally and Haglein return. If Kreider made the lineup, he would also be heading down in a week or 2, so no big deal. But getting consistent ice time is a big deal for his development.
