Giants Tomorrow

The first game of the season rarely means much, for example, two of the four seasons that have ended with a Giant Superbowl win began with a Giant loss to the Cowboys.    So who knows?   But the run game will have a new look, last year Jacobs was gone this year Bradshaw is gone.  What's more, Andre Brown is on reclaimable IR or whatever they call it,  so it's David Wilson, Da'Rel Scott and Mike Cox. Hynoski went to Dallas, but it's unclear whether he'll play or how effectively.    What's more, it will be a re-arranged OL, so their might also be synch issues.   Could make for some tough sledding.  Still, I think we'll see some big plays in the run game.   David Wilson is the goods and can't be caught from behind.   Nor can Scott.  Not sure about Mike yet.   So that will be interesting.

It will also be interesting to see how Nicks and Cruz work and whether Myers or Ruben Randle can be an effective 3rd receiver, at least for game 1.    Eli tends to play well in Dallas, so hopefully that will continue, though he too may have to deal with OL hiccups.  It sounds like the Cowboys will target Justin Pugh, but I think he'll surprise them.   We'll find out if James Brewer can pull, too.

On D, JPP made the trip but may not play.   Same for DeMontre Moore.   The Giants were so uncertain  about DL health that they signed Adewale Ojomo from the practice squad.  He and Justin Trattou could see big action if JPP can't go.   It will be interesting to see how the new DT rotation works, and if it will be any better against the runs.

The back 7 of D have to play better for the Giants to have a chance this year.   They got gashed last year and it was painful to watch.   Prince Amukamara may be our best defender not named JPP.  He's improved a ton from his first season.    And Antrel Rolle is now a captain, let's hope that reminds him not to take dumb penalties.   Safety looks thin till Will Hill gets back.  We'll see if the linebackers have an easier time behind bigger DT's.  It would also be nice if they line up correctly.

Should be a fun game, and hopefully a Giant win, but don't put too much stock in it either way.
