Giants Lose Goff

Looks like Greg Jones is going to play a lot sooner than expected. The Giants, yesterday, lost Jonathan Goff to an ACL tear. This is bad news for Goff but less bad news for the Giants. The Giants are likely to bring in Kawika Mitchell or some other vet for insurance, but Greg Jones will probably get the start Sunday. Greg Jones is an Antonio Pierce clone. Slightly undersized, slightly under athletic, but an absolutely instinctive football player who doesn't waste steps, and thus plays fast. He will make some rookie mistakes, but probably not the same one twice. It will also be interesting to see if the Giants start working Mark Herzlich there. If Herzlich continues to improve, he really can be something special. Anyway, it will probably be a one or two down position while the kids learn, or to protect whatever veteran stopgap they add. Go Giants!
