Boom! 3000!!!!!!! Yanks Win!
Wow, Derek Jeter just reached 3000 by hitting a huge homer. The stadium is going crazy. The hit tied the game at 1. It's only the third inning, but he just became the first pure Yankee to reach 3000. Just a phenomenal achievement for the Yankee Captain. Both the homer and his first hit of the day were stung, so maybe this will really get him going. Go Jeter! Go Yanks!UPDATE: Jeter went 5-5 including the game winning single in the bottom of the 8th. What a day! Let's hope he's back in his groove. Go Yanks!

I am happy for he and his family. He is a special player and special person. The sports world could use more like him. A true Yankee.
He said he worked on staying back on the ball while in Tampa. Hopefully we will see his bat be more of a force the rest of the season. HOF bound!!
