Kerry Wood is a Yankee

Now it's being reported that the Yanks are close to acquiring Kerry Wood in a deal where Cleveland would pick up most of the dough. Wood would be a gamble on stuff. He's been up and down in his star crossed career and the Yanks would be hoping for a hot Wood down the stretch. Again, it's an okay gamble but completely dependant on price. Still no word on any UT deal for the Yanks. Go Cash!

UPDATE1: Apparently, the deal is done and awaits the commissioner's approval. Wood still throws had and has been trending up after a poor start that saw him DL'd with a blister. Velo plays well down the stretch and in the post season. We'll have to see what we gave up.

UPDATE2: Looks like the Wood deal is another PTBNL or cash deal.

UPDATE3: The Yanks DFA'd Chan Ho Park to make room for Kerry Wood.

Woods's ERA since May 21 is 3.78, but we need to know who these PTBNL are before we can assess these deals.

maybe just Cash same as Kearns which if that's the case makes this move look even better!

I thought Kearns was a PTBNL as well?

Both of the Cleveland deals are for a player or cash.
