Time For Jesus

Unfortunately, it looks like Jorge Posada is going to miss a month with a fractured foot. The Yanks should not screw around with scrubs. Since they are going to have to add someone to their 40, they shouldn't cut talent just to add a back-up catcher. They need to add their best hitting prospect since Mickey Mantle, and his name is Jesus Montero. Sure he hasn't gotten off to his typical hot start in AAA, but he will get better coaching from Tony Pena and Kevin Long than he woud get down in AAA. They should start the assignment by telling him no matter how well he does or doesn't do he's going back down when Jorge comes back. This would also give them a righty DH should Thames have to hit the DL, too. Do it, Cash!

I agree, and if it doesn't happen, it will show how constricted the Yankees' decision makers thought process really is.

This is one of life's IQ tests.

Don't think he is ready yet.

Definitely not the right time to promote him.

btw, Ready for what? A handful of AB and maybe one or two games behind the plate?

If it's not Montero or Romine, it's Moeller, yet another automatic out in a lineup that already has to many.

At least Montero or Romine have a shot to get a hit.

it's a 30 day asssigment, and he'll get better coaching from Pena if you're one of these idiots who thinks he can't catch.

It's Moeller. That says it all about Cashman, a good, but not a great GM, who has not rebuilt the farm system sufficiently despite presiding over four drafts and Oppenheimer presiding over what, five or six?

Too conservative, just like they were when Joba had a case of OH NOEZ TENDINITIS!!!11 As Rich said, these types of things are what keeps Cashman from being a great GM.

Melancon sent down, yet Logan remains. Sorry, but these guys are idiots at times.
