A-Mazing!
ARod went into the final series of the season with 28 homers and 93 RBI. He needed 2 homers and 7RBI's to keep his string of 30 hr/100 rbi's going. Playing part time in the first two games, he didn't get it done. In fact, it looked bleak until he hit a three run homer and a grand slam in the 6th inning of today's season finale, a 10-2 win for the Spanks. So not only did ARod get his 30 and 100, but he set an AL record for RBI's in an inning, and ended up hitting homers on both the first and last pitches he saw in the regular season. It was just spectacular.
AJ Burnett looked good allowing 2 runs through 6 and collection his 100th career win. Dave Robertson, Joba Chamberlain, Phil Coke, Phil Hughes and Mariano Rivera were all perfect out of the bullpen.
The Yanks finished at 103 and 59 and look to be in great shape heading into the post season. Go Yanks!
