Del Zotto Given #4

19 year old rookie D, Michael Del Zotto will wear #4 when he makes his regular season debut for the Rangers tomorrow night. Doesn't sound like what they'd do for a kid who was just on a nine day tryout. As you can imagine, low numbers are pretty significant. Del Zotto has always worn #4 to honor Bobby Orr - not a Ranger, but the best hockey player I ever saw. Of course, it is also the Ranger # of the Great Ron Greschner! That's pretty good stuff right there.

The Rangers are probably just two moves from having a really exciting D, and those two moves would be dumping Rozsival and Redden off the roster, rather than adding anyone in particular to the young mix they are putting together. I expect big things out of MDZ, Staal, Girardi and Gilroy this year. Go Rangers!
