Gardy Goes Yardy

Brett Gardner got a start in Center tonight while Damon DH'd, Melky played Left and Swisher played right, and made some noise. Gardy hit his first big league homer in the second and later followed up with a triple and a walk. He scored twice, drove in three and played good D. Nice night for Gardy. Melky, Cano, Teixeira, Pena and Damon also had a extra base hits, as the Yanks surged to an 8-2 lead behind six cagey innings from Andy Pettitte. Alfredo Aceves pitched a scoreless seventh and eight, and Jonathan Albaladejo made things interesting in the ninth - again. Having gotten the first out, he proceeded to lose the plate and walk the next two batters before giving up a hit and loading the bases. He finally got a 5-4-3 DP and the Yanks won 8-2. CC goes tomorrow in the rubber game. Go Yanks!
