He Has Returned
Sean Avery is once again a Ranger. We'll see how that works out. Hopefully, there will be another move or two that clears space and brings back value so we don't have to scratch anyone good for him.
UPDATE: The Rangers also waived Aaron Voros. That wouldn't have been a bad move as a stand along, but it was probably done to create cap and roster room for Avery. They also waived Reitz.

More is coming from what I hear Phil.. whether its just parts or Frolov something else is in the hopper..
I know, we just better not trade Anisimov, Grachev, Sangs or Del Zotto.
If we do, it better be for someone really special hint hint Iyla. Sather better head for the hills otherwise! On the surface though I agree those players are untouchable imo unless someone special is coming back. These guys could be special under the Torts system, and cannot wait to see them get the chance.
Grachev would be a monster for Torts.
and Ilya is the only one I'd consider moving AA or one of the defenders for. I won't move Grachev for anyone.
I would agree with you Phil, that Grachev is a keeper from everything I have seen, heard and been told. Iyla with Gomez would be just what we need, and AA of the listed talent would be the only one I would even entertain.
We may have finally seen the end of the Betts era, as I am hearing Torts is not a big fan...
Reitz/Voros addition by subtraction
Yup, I sort of hope Betts gets dealt.
The phrases limited and one-dimensional were what my guy told me is how Betts is being described. Betts is blocking the kids as is Orr. Torts does value the defensive aspects of the game, but wants to have guys with offensive potential. Dubi/Cally are quickly becoming Torts favorites..
Dubi played for Torts on Team USA.
That explains part of it for sure. I know he loves their efforts in practice and on the ice. They feel Dubi is taking more of a leadership role in the locker-room.
Grachev is safe and the IK deal isn't gonna happen.
