Two Underrated Hitchcock Flicks

Foreign Correspondent (1940) and Saboteur (1942). These two films, made during the early days of WWII have been really underrated fro a long time. Each is an excellent thriller in its own right, but critics from a place I could never understand, seemed to dock each film for being overtly anti-facist and pro-America and her allies. Good vs. Evil was very much on the minds of the movie going public when those flicks were made and in no way does the idea of keeping one's head up and keeping faith in what is good overwhelm either story or picture. Taken on their own terms, each film offers shot after shot of classic Hitchcock camera and unforgettable good guys, bad guys and side characters. Sabouteur is often seen as the `40's version of "The 39 Steps" (`30's) and North by Northwest (`50's) and stands with those two as Hitchcock's best wrong man movies. If you haven't lately, give them another look.
